Dark maple syrup, 1/2 US gallon

Dark grade maple syrup is late season harvest. Light transmittance is 25-49.9%, which before the 2014 regrading, would have been called Dark Amber or Grade B. The flavor is not as complex and nuanced as amber. It is more intense. Characteristic flavor notes are maple, caramel, butterscotch, and dark brown sugar to molasses or toffee.
